Julie is a graduate of Quinnipiac College in Hamden, Connecticut, where she also obtained her advanced Master’s Degree in orthopedic physical therapy. She has over thirty years of clinical experience in orthopedics and sports medicine. She currently owns and operates a private practice in Connecticut. Julie has worked closely with Brian Mulligan and his manual techniques of “Mobilizations with Movement” and was the first woman in North America certified by Brian Mulligan, F.N.Z.S.P., (Hon.) Dip. M.T. and the Mulligan Concept ® Teacher’s Association to teach his concept. Since her certification in 1998, she has assisted Brian Mulligan with courses both nationally and internationally. She has also shared her passion for the Mulligan Concept ® by serving as the primary course instructor for numerous Physical Therapists and Athletic Trainers. In addition, she has presented the Mulligan Concept ® at national professional conferences and most recently provided private instruction to the Athletic Training staff of an NFL team.

Mark Thomson DPT, FAAOMPT, OCS, CMP, MCTA
Dr. Thomson earned his B.S. in Physiological Science from UCLA in 1992. He graduated from UCSF/SFSU with an MPT degree in 1995. Mark graduated from the Kaiser Permanente Manual Therapy Fellowship in Los Angeles, CA in 2000. In 2005, he earned his tDPT from Temple University. Mark is a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapists, is a Board Certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist, and APTA Orthopedic Section member.
Mark’s clinical practice is currently at Kaiser Permanente in San Diego, where he works as a Clinical Specialist and treats outpatient orthopedic patients full time. Since 2010, he has also worked as an adjunct faculty member at the University of Saint Augustine in San Diego within the Physical Therapy Doctoral Program, teaching courses in Spinal Manipulation, Extremity Manipulation, and Orthopedics. Before becoming a Mulligan teacher in 2014, Mark was a teaching assistant and CMP for 10 years and has been involved with teaching short and long-term Maitland manual therapy courses since 1999 with excellent course reviews.
Dr. Thomson is a clinical faculty member in the Kaiser Southern California Orthopedic Residency program, and thoroughly enjoys mentoring several residents every year. He practices an integrated style of manual therapy, focusing on passive and active mobilization techniques and exercise, with a commitment to continual analytical assessment.
Patricia Black PT, MCTA
I did my undergraduate work at Boston University graduated in 1989 with a Masters in Orthopedics at Quinnipac College. I became a certified Mulligan Teacher in 2001. I am currently working at Yale New Haven Hospital in the outpatient department and have using the Mulligan Concept ® in my practice since 1990.
Richard Crowell PT, MS, GDMT, MCTA
Rick Crowell is a 1993 graduate of Curtin University’s postgraduate program in manipulative therapy, Perth, Australia. He received his post-professional Master’s Degree in 1986 from Georgia State University in orthopedic physical therapy. Rick has extensive educational and clinical training in manual therapy. He is a fellow in the American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapy. He is currently practicing, teaching, and conducting research in Mobilization With Movement™ Rick is a adjunct professor at the College of St. Scholastica in addition to his clinical practice. He has worked with Brian Mulligan since 1994, is an accredited teacher in the Mulligan Concept ® and has conducted courses in both the United States and Brazil. Past Chairman Internation MCTA and NA-MCTA Regional Manager and currently member of the CMP Committee and MCTA Research Committee.
