The Mulligan Concept ® is a unique approach to manual therapy discovered and developed by Brian Mulligan F.N.Z.S.P. (Hon), Dip. M.T. from Wellington, New Zealand. This simple yet effective manual approach addresses musculoskeletal disorders with pain free manual joint “repositioning” techniques for restoration of function and abolition of pain.
The North American Region of the Mulligan Concept ® Teacher’s Association (NA-MCTA) is comprised of 49 accredited teachers who work collaboratively to provide high quality courses in the U.S.A. and Canada. The NA-MCTA is a recognized section of the international Mulligan Concept ® Teacher’s Association (MCTA) organization which is a group of manipulative/ manual physical therapy instructors who are accredited to teach the Mulligan Concept ®.
The MCTA was founded by Brian Mulligan to teach his approach worldwide. Currently, there are around 42 teachers internationally. These teachers are all trained in manipulative/manual therapy up to a standard set by IFOMT (e.g., Graduate Diploma in Advanced Manipulative Therapy, etc.)
